    Abstract

This study analyzed the factors influencing trainees’ understanding of caregiver training program content to make suggestions for the reinforcement of caregiver training programs. To that end, 22 trainees attending K university’s caregiver training center were surveyed about the factors relevant to their understanding of program content. To verify the factors influencing the trainees’ understanding of program content, regression analysis was performed. As a result, the motives for participation in the program, academic self-efficacy, and attitude towards the elderly had significant effects on their understanding of program content. Hence, in order to increase the effectiveness of the caregiver training program, it is necessary to reflect trainees’ motives for participation in the program, support trainees with their academic self-efficacy and emphasize the attitude towards the elderly.
